|POTC hosts 'Protection Of Civilians' Course|
‘Protection of Civilians’ (POC) is rooted in International Humanitarian Law which calls on belligerent actors to minimize
harm to civilians and civilian property in the conduct of hostilities including from excessive and disproportionate attacks/force.
It also calls for the protection of civilians from violence.
To this end, POTC hosted POC from 22 to 26 Sep. 2013 for 21 females of Jordanian Armed Forces.
The course was conducted under supervision of US Embassy in Amman, by a specialized combined team from USA and UK.

In cooperation with US, the POTC hosted 'Legal Aspects of Border Security and International Refugee Law' Course,
from 22 to 26 Sep. 2013 for Jordanian Officers of different ranks.
|UN Military Observers Course 27-2013 concluded at POTC|
UN Military Observers Course 27-2013 concluded at POTC on 19 Sep., officers of
Jordanian Armed Forces attended the course which lasted for 5 weeks.
This course aims at training and qualifying officers to work as military observers in various UN missions.
|POTC hosts 'Joint
Warfare Planning' Course|
In cooperation with Australian Army, the POTC hosted 'Joint
Warfare Planning' Course,
from 10 to 18 Sep. 2013 for Jordanian Officers of different ranks.
The closing of the course was patronized by Her Excellency Ms Heidi Venamore the Australian
Ambassador to Jordan,
who, the POTC had the great honor to recieve her in an official visit.
|PSOTC Commandant Visits POTC|
A delegation from AFBiH headed by Colonel Jasmin Čajić, Commandant of AFBiH PSOTC visited POTC on 10 Sep. 2013.
The delegation was received by the POTC Commandant and staff.
During the visit, the delegation was briefed on POTC main training activities, mission, and had a tour to various
POTC's facilities. On the other hand, Colonel Jasmin Čajić presented a brief about PSOTC Mission, Organization and financial
management, Capacities, Impact of Education and Training in PSO, and possible areas of cooperation between two Centers.
It is worth mentioning that The PSOTC was established in 2004 and became a NATO Partner Education and Training Centre
in 2007, and two years later PSOTC was nominated as one of five Regional Training Centers. PSOTC was also accredited by UN last year for
running UN oriented courses.
|Arab Culture Awareness Training Course 1-013 concluded at POTC|
Arab Culture Awareness Training Course 2013 completed at POTC on 29 April 2013, 11 students from
Poland and Czech Republic attended the course.
This course aims at providing participants (NONE ARABS) with necessary Arab and Islamic cultural values
and perspectives as well as having a real-life experience in Arab-Islamic environment as far as cultural awareness is concerned, and
is targeted Military, governmental or civilians who are likely to be engaged in, as cultural advisors or instructors in different NATO missions.
|Delegation of NATO Contact Point Embassy visits POTC|
Delegation of NATO Contact Point Embassy, headed by H.E. Ivana Holoubková,
the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Jordan, visited POTC on Monday, 15 April 2013.
The purpose of the visit is to get acquainted with the mission and facilities of POTC
and to discuss the Arab Cultural Awareness Training Course and its accreditation with NATO.
During her visit, The Ambassador was briefed on POTC main training activities, mission,
Culture Awareness Training in specific, and had a tour to various POTC's facilities.
H.E. announced that NATO Contact Point Embassy stands ready to assist POTC in promoting the Cultural Awareness Course
among the Allies and look forward to future cooperation.
