Director of the GPOI visits POTC

 

Director of the Global Peace Operations Initiative, Mr. Michael Smith, visited POTC on 12 May 2013. During the visit, he was briefed about the overall training process and courses held at the Centre, as well as Jordan's participation in international peacekeeping operations, followed by general discussion on some matters relating to various development aspects that have taken place in the Centre and the level reached in light of the support provided by the GPOI.

It is worth mentioning that the GPOI has supported POTC since 2007, and provided various training aids and vehicles, as well as construction of training and administrative facilities.

International Negotiation Management Course 3-2013 starts at POTC

 

International Negotiation Management Course 3-2013 started at POTC on 12 May, 14 students of Jordanian Armed Forces are attending the course which will last for one week.

This course aims at providing officers with basic negotiation skills that help them reach acceptable solutions for any problems they might face during their work in any peace operations missions.

Arab Culture Awareness Training Course 1-013 concluded at POTC

 

Arab Culture Awareness Training Course 2013 completed at POTC on 29 April 2013, 11 students from Poland and Czech Republic attended the course.

This course aims at providing participants (NONE ARABS) with necessary Arab and Islamic cultural values and perspectives as well as having a real-life experience in Arab-Islamic environment as far as cultural awareness is concerned, and is targeted Military, governmental or civilians who are likely to be engaged in, as cultural advisors or instructors in different NATO missions.

Delegation of NATO Contact Point Embassy visits POTC

 

Delegation of NATO Contact Point Embassy, headed by H.E. Ivana Holoubková, the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Jordan, visited POTC on Monday, 15 April 2013.

The purpose of the visit is to get acquainted with the mission and facilities of POTC and to discuss the Arab Cultural Awareness Training Course and its accreditation with NATO.

During her visit, The Ambassador was briefed on POTC main training activities, mission, Culture Awareness Training in specific, and had a tour to various POTC's facilities.

H.E. announced that NATO Contact Point Embassy stands ready to assist POTC in promoting the Cultural Awareness Course among the Allies and look forward to future cooperation.
